GOLDENS' FOUNDRY AND MACHINE CO.
COLUMBUS, GA.
Cane mills were manufactured by this company
from the late 1800's until the early 1940's when war
demands turned Goldens' attention to manufacturing
steering engines for steam ships. The cane mill patterns
were sold about that time to persons unknown, and after
the war the company went on to bigger and better profit
making items. If you know of any more historical facts that can be added to this site, I would be very grateful, as would the fine folks at the present Goldens' Foundry. Sadly there is no real written history of the building of these mills, and the current management of the company would really like to hear from you if you have any personal or even second hand knowledge of the production of these mills. Please feel free to contact either myself, Ken Christison christison@coastalnet.com and/or Dennis Parker with Goldens' Foundry at: dparker@gfmco.com I would like to acknowledge the support I have received from Dennis Parker and the Goldens' Foundry and Machine Company.
